Flock Size: Approximately 20 sheep including rams.
How long have you had sheep: I have raised Navajo-Churro Sheep since 2008. I raise them primarily for the wool. When I breed, I breed for good wool quality and genetic diversity from outside my flock. I’m a spinner and weaver.
Why is the N-CSA important: The registration aspect of the Navajo-Churro Sheep Association is important for maintaining breed standards. Also the education portion of the organization is critical. At the 2024 meeting presentations on highlights of what the field inspectors were seeing as well as the history of the Navajo-Churro sheep both into New Mexico and to the Navajo Nation.
What are some of your ideas for the N-CSA:  Continue working together with Navajo to ensure that their voices and knowledge of the Navajo-Churro Sheep are included. Navajo membership on the N-CSA Board is essential.  If possible, coordinate AGM with the Dine Sheep is Life celebration.   Encourage and educate more field inspectors.
